Low self esteem is a judgement and an attitude towards oneself. It is how we value ourselves, often feeling very negative. It may not be obvious to the individual. Often a person with low self esteem feels intimidated by others they consider better than them. They may have a constant feeling of not being 'good enough' and feel lonely and insecure. Shame can often be a factor of low self esteem, dwelling on failures and feelings of being judged.
