What is the difference between Counselling and Psychotherapy? Counselling is more short term and generally deals with present issues like bereavement and loss. Psychotherapy tends to be deeper and although it deals with current issues, it may delve into past experiences and patterns of behaviour and the unconscious. They are very similar.
