Anxiety can manifest itself in many ways. Many people may experience body sensations such as heart palpitations, sweaty palms, shortness of breath, stomach discomfort and more.
A person may also experience insomnia. These sensations and experiences are the body telling us that something is not right. Anxiety is addressed by recognising the triggers that cause these sensations and addressing them. The therapist task is to help the client heal and understand.
Existential Anxiety. Existential angst questions, Who am I. What is my purpose? Being responsible for ourselves and the choices we make or don’t make. The therapist will work with the client to discover hope and meaning.
